Watts for 15" MT to reach xmax

I used the search and didnt come up with anything because all anyone ever says is "If you dont know the rms then you shouldn't get one". In any case I was curious of the watts required for a 15" MT to reach xmax. I was thinking about 2200 has anyone tested this and can help me out? thanks in advance

getting a woofer to reach full throw is frequency, box, and power dependent..

without knowing all 3... you can't answer your question..

anywhere from 200-2kw, box and tuning dependent..

bigbassman is right. Its very dependant on criteria you aren't supplying (or probably considering) here. Call RE, ask them what they suggest. My guess is they would suggest something other than an MT for a daily anyway. Why do you want an MT for a dd?

Thats why I am considering getting an Inhuman, so maybe that's why he is considering an MT.

I guess somewhat decent is a relative term.

MT is a beast, capable of putting up amazing numbers in the SPL lanes. But I really dont get the idea of buying a sub that's capable of a few db's more only when playing at full tilt, but sounds worse 100% of the time. Even RE says this, but to each their own.

Not paying $400 for it no, if I can get it lower then possibly yes. I was under the impression even used Inhumans went for a pretty penny still, wrong??

Loyd is right, there is no 'general' power range to get any sub to Xmax...it depends on application. Sealed, ported...too many variables to tell...
