Wanting to change subs

put plain and simple: there are better subs than JL for the price... youre paying for the JL name... nothing more
Maybe you're right but I haven't heard a sub that sound as good as the W6v2... in my opinion.

Probably wanting to spend just around $500. I wish i could go ported but i just dont have enough room under my back seat for a ported box. Ill look into the w6v2 right now and see what i come up with. Anyone got any other suggestions on brands other than JL (sq wise that gets fairly loud) Also the sub needs to be around or under 6 1/2 mounting depth.

I doubt the JL's would work then... Look for 10W3V1's, they are a much better sub than the v2's I hear. And cheaper.

I recommend that you look into this company ( Digital Designs ) at their website:

http://www.ddaudio.com and check out the 1000 series or 2500 series. The 1000 will work better in that air space, you can call to see if they are making the 2000 series still. That is the best sub for that small sealed application aside from getting a pair of 1000 series 8" subs and porting the enclosure. That is always a good route for downfiring double 10" truck enclosures. My recommendations would be in this order:

1) a pair of 1008s and modify your enclosure by venting it with a jig saw and a pair of boards that are as wide as you need them and 13" long.

2) a single 1010 and modify your enclosure by venting it with a jig saw and a SINGLE board that is as wide as you need it and 13" long.

3) a pair of 2010s and just stick them in the box, go ahead and stuff the enclosure with a bag of polyfil while you are at it.

the stuff they put in pillows... loweres over all compliance (Qtc) in a sealed set up which gives a flatter, smoother responce anecho.

it is useless in vented applications. Only helpful in 4th order bandpass in the sealed side, Transmission Line, sealed, and possibly horns.

i'd look into some image dynamics Q series, great sound and get decently loud
Those are pretty nice too.

If you cant fit a 15 do the 12. I mean the 12 would be more than enough for me but I was looking at your current setup up and thought you might say that the spl for one 12 would not be enough.
