How can I change the boot logo on my Pioneer DMH 1770 NEX?

Hello,
I have a Pioneer DMH 1770 NEX stereo, and I would like to change the boot logo on my screen to match my Chevy. But the problem is the model doesn’t have that option. I even called pioneer and they said I’m not able to. So is there some loophole or solution I could do (Like hack the stereo itself or hook up a computer to it) so I might be able to change it. Now you might be thinking “Why not get a stereo where you could do that?!” The thing is my dad chose that one for me, it was just installed for almost $3,000 and I’m kind of stuck with it.

Thank you

According to the bot:

Unfortunately, the Pioneer DMH-1770NEX does not officially support changing the boot logo through any user-accessible menu or option. While some car stereos allow logo customization, Pioneer has locked this feature on certain models, including the DMH-1770NEX.

Potential Solutions:

  1. Firmware Update: Keep an eye on firmware updates from Pioneer. Sometimes new software releases can add new features, but there's no guarantee this will include boot logo customization.
  2. Third-Party Software: There are some third-party programs and tools used by more advanced users to modify firmware or access hidden features. However, pursuing this can be risky:
    • Bricking Risk: You could accidentally render your stereo unusable if the process goes wrong.
    • Warranty Void: Modifying the firmware typically voids any warranty or support from Pioneer.
  3. External Modifications: If you’re technically savvy, you could potentially disassemble the unit and connect it directly to a computer to attempt to modify its firmware. However, this requires good knowledge of electronics and firmware programming.
  4. Professional Modding: You could approach an audio custom shop. They may have experience with similar modifications and could potentially offer a safe way to change the boot logo.

Conclusion:

While these options exist, proceed with caution. Modifying the stereo may result in unintended consequences, including damaging the unit or voiding any support from Pioneer. If the boot logo is vital to you, consider discussing with your dad about finding a solution that allows for more customization in the future.

It wasn’t just that it was new speakers too.
That's nice to hear. I thought $3000 was bit out there.

Anyhow, as the bot was saying, talk to a computer repair wiz. Sometimes, they like to get adventurous on these types of projects. I have a buddy who asked Pioneer to change it, but they said they will not, which sucks because I know they did it for some SEMA show cars.

Microprocessor chip. That uploads automatically when radio is turned on. Open up the circuit. Find that chip, and then replace it with a new one with a logo that matches your choice. See if that works. But you'll have to find the chip first on the IC circuit in your radio.

I don't install much of my own stuff anymore because of lack of time and age making my flexibility nonexistent 😂 but a 3k price tag to install a hu and speakers would get me crawling upside down in my car again 🤣

LOL. I told Grease Monkey they're making me crawl up under my car after they quoted me on doing all my fluids. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
