WANTED: mono block or 2ohm amp for type r!

I need a decent amp that will push 1 dual 4 ohm type r. Cant spend about 200 bucks... Give me a few options here i want one that is better than my directed audio 1500D!

You wont find anything much 'better' than the Directed for that amount of money.

Well you are prob right tony but i got mine from ikesound i am on my 3rd one now my 1st was defective 2nd one blew up and the 3rd one was a smoke bomb.. I have heard they have had alot of problems but **** the last 2 were fine for a while just 1 day on low volume toasted my tunk!! Really startign to piss me off. WHat bout a kenwood 1700, or a niche 1000, maybe even a viper 1200 or orion 1200?

I would go for the Orion, they are only like $190 from ike I think.. The Viper 1200.1 and the Directed 1500D are the same amps, so there wouldnt be much of a difference going from one to the other.

And if you have now had 3 'defective' amplifiers, I doubt it IS the amps, it seems more like you are doing something wrong here....

They are two different amplifiers, not just different colors....

I wouldnt go the Hifonics route, they will not do their rated power, and ,IMO, they are below Directed as far as reliability is concerned.

Well the 1st one wasnt my fault it was smashed from factory. But the 2nd was my DMM was shot and had it overloading the 3rd. Tuned perfectly worked awsome for like 3 months then shit the bed soo idk.. Orion 1200 doesnt seen bad but not from ikesound! What do you think any other?

I have an Orion XTRpro1000 that I'm selling for $235 shipped. It does 1000w RMS @ 1 ohm and 500w RMS @ 2 ohms, very underrated old-school amp from Orion. Also comes with a 6-month warranty since it was a refurb from ebay. Never been powered up since it was refurbished, so basically a brand new one.

i bench test my HIPHONICS and got all 1600 watts and change, so i guess they dont do rated power...of course every amp is different, maybe i got a good one...
