hi guys!

well, if anyone of you read this thread, youll know im currently in Seoul, South Korea, and i had a chance to visit and take some pics of a major car audio manufacturer/factory (one of the largest in Korea)

the owner was REALLY kind and let me take as many pics as i wanted, so i went camera crazy.

now not being an amp specialist and really knowing nothing about the actual guts of an amp, i thought you experts out there wouldnt mind taking a close up look of these Class-D mono block competition amps and commneting on the quality. he manufactures these models along with tons more, but these are 2 of his largest.

i also came across the Sounstream 604 Rubicon, the original, not the last batch 2nd generation. he has like 50 or so in stock from a while back. you can even see the dust on the one i took a pic of. im gonna grab one for myself i think. hes not sellin those very cheap though from what i heard when talking about the price on it

there are some pics of a small stock room of older models and newer ones as well. some brands i never even heard of. must be sold only within asia or something

please post your thoughts on the internals etc.. any info is helpful THX!

hope the pics arent too big!

Rubicon 604s kick ***. I have two. If he wants to give any away, I'll take 'em all //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

like any business, im sure they arent free. if they were they'd be stacked up in my room haha

Looks like a generic mainstream design. Nothing stands out as being reallyinteresting. Specs seem generous. Nothing much can be said until the amp is

benched and tortured. If you can get the power supply power transistors part

numbers, maybe you can make a better conclusion.
ok

but being a noob, where are the power supply transistors? sorry if its a dumb question

also, how can a part number help me out?

also, yeah, benched and tortured is what i would like to find out. thats the hard part not having a vehicle over here. i suppose i can go back to the factory and ask some more about their results. the good thing about this manufacturer is they make and have made amps for a lot of brand name companies and have been in the business for over 20 years. plus, unlike just making the amps on an assembly line, they test them in demo cars as well and enter their products in db drags and lots of competitions throughout asia. the manager said they learned a lot from trial and error and have basically perfected their stuff over the years

db master?
yeah. i guess its their own heatsink and brand for within asia.

see my problem is finding the same internal boards as popular amps over here in north america like IA, JL's whatever etc., and getting ahold of those amps, coz most of the korean companies badge their own amps with their own name

well find out how much those 'clif designs' clones cost. and if they are worth the price he is willing to let them go for, im sure i would run one lol.
yeah, ill get on that , then see what the manager will give for a price

anyone know what one of those Clif Designs CD4800.1LX amp runs for? there is really LITTLE info on the company itself let alone prices. their site lists no prices

You have three different amps each with different power claims for that board.

4800w

5200w

3700w

The issue comes down to pricing. If you got those amps cheap then you

are good to go whether it's a 3kw amp or 5kw amp. If the price is good,

you can sell it.

If you want to be the clever marketeer, market the amp as a 2.5kw amp

and have it tested at 3.5kw and people will say "wow, this amp is under-rated,

it does 1kw more than advertised, yay!"...

But if you advertise it as a 4.5kw amp and it does 3.5kw, people will say

'It's cheap, over-rated, doesn't do what they claim powerwise".
