Hey guys, I am new to the forum (if the number of my posts doesn't tell) and I have decided to upgrade my sound system in my car. Unfortunately for me, I bought a Nissan Altima with the Bose system in it, and every single thing has to be replaced to get a decent sound system...

Now on to what I am looking for... I am not sure off hand the setup, I have background with Alpine, and have enjoyed the system. I am leaning towards going with a Type-R setup all around, but may do a Type-S setup to keep on a budget but still increase my SQ.

Purchased Amp

Purchase Pending Saturday locally for 6.5 comp and 6x9, still need 5.25 coax and may still consider other 6.5 comp and 6x9

For Speakers, 1 set of each:

6.5 component, 5.25 Coax, 6x9 coax

Looking to stick around specs of speakers such as Alpine Type-R's

Looking also for a DEH-80PRS or DEH-X9500BHS new/warranty but will consider used/refurb if comes with all original accessories.

Shipping will be to 23606

I have been leaning towards a 5 channel amp, as I am looking to add a Sub in the future without having to spend more on another amp.

Also, any suggestions if I should run the 3 sets of speakers or drop the rear door 5.25 and run the front 6.5 comps/rear 6x9?

If i was to run the 3 sets, would it be beneficial to run the front 4ohm comps in separate channels at the 4ohms, then run 2ohms from the amp into 2x 4ohm speakers for the other 2 channels?

Budget? I have a couple 4 channel amps, some coax's sets and components also some type r 12s
I am looking to be around $1000 for a full system including HU, amp, speakers, and all wiring/accessories. I will be doing the labor myself hopefully.

I would do some good 6.5" components for the front and run 6x9 subs in the rear, then leave the rear doors for the head unit power unless they're blown. Otherwise disconnect the rear speakers and upgrade them with coaxials if you feel the need. $1,000 is a pretty thin budget for a full system. If you want a DVD double DIN the head unit expenses could take half the budget.

Right now I am looking at a $200 budget single din either the DEH-80PRS if I can pick one up off a bid on ebay for that, or DEH-X9500BHS which can be picked up for $185. I was looking into the Pioneer Appradio 2 but after reading various reviews, not sure about it anymore.

The AppRadio 3 is on pre-order for dealers now. It's supposed to ship very soon. That unit has a CD/DVD drive and some other new features. You should buy from authorized dealers to get the full warranty and tech support.

I have a Us Amps Ax-5600 5-channel that should work well that is in great shape and very good looking. I also have a lnib jbl p660c 6.5" component set that would work well with it. On the idea of 5 sets of speakers I would not worry about anything except the front speakers at first. If you get them installed and then don't believe the output is high enough then decide if you will go the 6x9's or 5.25's in the back for fill. If you decide to go ahead and pull the trigger on a sub or two I probably have some good options in that direction as well.

Unfortunately I cannot simply replace my speakers. The stock bose system is integrated and if I replace any, I pretty much have to replace it all at once, including amp. PM me with price to 23606 for the JBL component set. From what I am seeing with the amp, is that 2ohm and not 4ohm capable?

Never heard of an amp running at 2 ohm but can't run at 4. It will run at 4 ohms. pm incoming on components.

Not interested in anything I pm'd you?
As I mentioned, your stuff is too far out of my budget. Sorry, I am working with a few things, speakers purchase pending on meeting up with someone on Saturday. I am going to go with a DEH-X9500BHS HU to cut some cost to spend elsewhere instead of going with a double din. The amp is nice, but I am now focusing on a 5 channel amp as I want to just simply wire in a sub without running for an extra amp.

Purchased an amp, still pending and taking suggestions/offers for a set of 6.5 comps, 6x9 coax, and 5.25 coax. Also if anyone has a Pioneer DEH-80prs or DEH-x9500BHS shoot me a price for new on each shipped to 23606
