Want to have $5 dollar a gallon gas?

cap and trade won't make it through the house anyway. we're still going to get it though. they'll just regulate it through the EPA. the way this administration works, they'll just appoint a czar to control it. when did we get moved to Russia? we now have 18 czars? last time i checked, ivan the terrible was a czar, which didn't turn out well.
Passed the house last friday...goes to the senate soon..

oh. guess i need to catch up. didn't think they had the votes. nevertheless, it's political suicide for alot of democrats in the middle of the country, and won't make it to the presidents desk. so they'll sneak it in like they've tried everything else.

passed by 7 votes and 8 repubicans voted for it.

those 8 republicans are in trouble in 2010 re-election. and since these guys usually know how the vote will go ahead of time, i wonder how many would have voted for it, who voted "no" for political appearance, but knew that a yes or a no vote would make no difference. there are probably 30 of them who would have voted yes if it was needed to pass it.

I just heard on the radio about that.
Basically, if it's passed, and you plan on selling your home, government auditors come out and inspect your home for how efficient it is. If it is inefficient by their standards, you must first modify it to be 'green' before you can sell. Among these modifications are things like a new roof. Now lets stop here for a second: a new roof can cost $10,000+. Thats with traditional asphalt shingles. The environmentalists want you using special, solar energy-reflective shingles, thus further raising the price.

You're gonna have to fork out tens of thousands of dollars just to sell your home. This is fucking absurd.

Fuck the democrats in congress. Socialists is what they are.

What this is going to mean is that people are simply not going to able to afford to sell their homes -- which means more foreclosures. Geez, isn't this **** too obvious? Why can't people see it?

they don't care about foreclosures. our economy is being collapsed on purpose, which requires mass foreclosures and mass welfare recipients.

depends on the home:fyi:

Install conventional asphalt shingles over existing shingles $1.25 - $2 / sq. ft.

Strip and re-shingle with conventional shingles $2 - $3 / sq. ft

Strip and re-roof with cedar shingles $5 - $7 per sq. ft.

Strip and replace built-up tar and gravel roof $4 - $6 / sq. ft.

Strip and replace single-ply membrane $4 - 6 / sq. ft.

I don't know if I can bring myself to believe that.

Anyway, when I say why can't people see this is going to lead to more foreclosures I am referring to the public.

it's been planned since the 60's. put so many people on government entitlement programs (including these ridiculous home loans) that it will collapse the system, leaving behind a framework for control. this has been planned for many years. anyone who was a part of radical 60's groups such as "students for a democratic society" will understand my theory. alot of those groups have changed their name. acorn is an example. they get billions of stimulus money btw, much of it so they can manipulate the census (which is now under the control of the whitehouse.....what a surprise) in order to change population counts, which can do many things with redistricting and the electoral college.

What do you think happened to NYC in the 70's by "community organizers"?

they consistently try to bring down capitalism. i use AIG as an example. the seiu (the largest union in the country) bussed people to the houses of bonus recipients. which brings me to another point. the government tore up contracts between private citizens, which is in direct violation of the constitution. as much as i don't like the bonus amounts, it's a little scary that the government can now interfere with the free market directly. the president firing CEO's is also unsettling.

SEIU = ACORN and the "community organizers" in NYC in the 70's effectively bankrupt NYC because they tilted so many people to live off welfare.
that's been the plan for the progressive movement. ACORN is a collection of many orginizations with different names. 200 of them approx. all of the big acorn executives were far left radicals in the 60's. all of them were in orginizations whose main goal was to build a fascist (they won't call it that, but it is) framework, stuff the welfare rolls and collapse the capitalist system, leaving their framework behind to "fix things". obama was their attorney, which is an odd fact. i'm sure it's coincidence.

I don't doubt a lot of what you are saying, in fact I think it is pretty clear that the liberal agenda is to drastically change the nature of America. I am just reluctant to believe they want to purposefully crash the economy. (And I am familiar with some of the radical statements made in the past of taking such an approach).

I don't know to be perfectly honest.

This "bill" will cost each household $1000-$5000 in just electricity. This does not even go into gas or the inflation of companies and farmers who use electricity and gas. This actually steps into your household and car over what? Something every human being exhales, every animal exhales and what all plants need to complete photosynthesis. How is this not an intrusion into your way of life, more of than anything else ever done? This is going to happen to everyone now unless you let your senators know.
The only EU countries who fall into their goals of cutting CO2 output in Europe are countries that shut their factories down A LOT because they can not afford to keep them open year round.

You can't use the excuse " Well we already had $4.20 gas without this bill." , because there is nothing in this bill to stop gas companies from going to $4.20 and what would happen if it went that high is instead of just being $4.20 a gallon it will be between $4.90 to $6.35 under this bill. Add $2500 for the "extra" cost to electricity you are easily talking about $3000 extra per year and we get nothing out of it except MORE dependent on foreign oil and FOREIGN made gas. WHY? because the government would tax the refineries and the domesticated oil companies so much that it will close them down..losing jobs and driving up fuel costs. This does not even get into what it does to the building codes. Lets say you live in Ohio and you bought a house 3 years ago. You look towards selling it in the near future because your wife or live-in girl friend is pregnant and you need a larger house. Under this bill you would have to bring your house up to California building standards before you can sell it. Not only does the the home owner eat those costs but they most also pay for an inspector to test to see if the house meets EPA standards for energy consumption. Do you think average American families can afford $2000-$4000 a year extra for no improvement in anything? What about how bad this will KILL the already destroyed housing market? Im sure every seller can afford $10,000+ to bring their home up to code in a crappy market.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
Are you retarded? Your post has absolutely nothing to do with anything I just said. Youre just using it as a poor ****ing excuse to push your political views. Honestly people like you is why I embrace a Eugenics program, and are the reason this country is in such a ****ing mess right now. Its not "liberals", its not "conservatives", its you. Cleanse yourself from the gene pool and save humanity!

Hmm interesting.. a closet progressive statist...also everything you quoted was about this thread...last I looked this was not "heattweakers political view thread" it is a thread about raising the consumers costs so it will prop up a BIGGER government nothing more and take away more of our freedoms.

Not quite lol, you obviously have very little understanding of politics and governmental systems. its obvious to anyone with half a brain that youre trying to turn this into a "liberals are evil blah blah blah" thread.
