The Congress is voting on the Cap and Tax bill Friday. It will tax the energy providers for emitting carbon dioxide (not carbon monoxide***). Plants actually use carbon dioxide for photosynthesis. Anyway if this passes by 2012 this will cost the average household $1200 more in energy costs and 3 to 4 times as much within 10 years. The money raised is not to fund green energy or help the environment.

If your congressmen are on this list call them at 202-224-3121 and ask for them and say NO to Cap and Tax. (Operator will ask which office you need to talk to and put you through)

Call them and let them know you do not want the Cap and Tax. Its a non finalized 1200 page bill that they are trying to stuff through about 3 to four months earlier than they originally intended. Wonder if anyone will get to look it over for a full 24 hours?

Democrats are gonna ruin this country.
Not just the democrats there are republicans on this track as well. There are conservative dems and "liberal" repubes. Don't let them vote without hearing your opinion for something you do not want.

it has nothing to do with which party. its the fact they all think they have the best option to "help" but in the end we are all fucked.

by they i mean anyone and everyone that has the ability and power to screw us

Because it was so great under the Republicans //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
So you like $5-$6-$7 dollar gas? You can afford basically what would equal car payments over a year for your use of energy? By 2020 the average cost will be 4000-5000 dollars a year in higher energy costs...They will be trading carbon tickets in Chicago like the do stocks on Wall Street.

We had nearly $5 gas last summer with Republicans in office. Also, yes, we should have gas be that high, would get us in line with the other countries around the world and may spark some actual innovation and research into alternatives.

Ahh and you want your electric bill to be 3x as high as well? You do realize they are not going to use the money generated to increase energy efficiency. In fact it probably will be used to keep bad businesses afloat as well as health care because the government will **** health care and this worse than they do Social Security and Medicare. Having less of your own money how easy will it be to buy the new car or equipment needed to go more green?

Higher gas prices means higher prices of EVERYTHING - not just "spurring innovation" for alternative energy sources, which would not take effect immediately anyway.

This is completely bogus, and estimates by the CBO put the average cost to each household JUST IN electricity and natural gas alone at approx. $3,800 higher 4 years from now. That doesn't include the increased costs of everything else that relies on energy (just **** near everything).

thanks for bringing that up. If I would have said it some Statist would have accused me of cooking the books LOL

What is funny is the way this was fought in court had NOTHING to do with green technology or the environment which they would lose because they cannot prove man made global warming. They attacked it from the side of "Can we legally tax carbon dioxide?". It is no better or worse than saying its legal to tax or control water vapor. We should be lucky they do not try that next.
