Folks seem to be tossing the labels "Republicans" and "Democrats" around a lot. Those are the two major political parties.
What should be referenced more often is the main ideological approach that is governing both parties. For the Republicans, over the past 10 years plus it has been leaning moderate. For the Democrats, they have just gotten more and more liberal, to the point now where they are moving into full fledged socialism.
I'm a conservative. I'm pissed at both parties. Dems obviously, but Repubs (and RINO's) just as much. Both parties are destroying this country for money and power, pure and simple. And now that the Dems control the Executive and Legislative branches of the federal government, you can kiss your personal liberties (such that they are now today anyways) and your hard earned money goodbye.
Tax and trade, government bailouts, more czars than Russia ever had, government takeovers of corporate America, more power to the Federal Reserve and nationalized health care (If you think health insurance is expensive now, just wait until it is free - PJ O'Rourke). It's all just the beginning of nanny state, cradle to grave government. Enjoy it. Elections have consequences and we are all going to PAY.
For those who don't know anything about the "Cap and Trade" bill, just remember that Barry promised during the campaign that the middle class would not see their taxes raised one cent. Well, this "Tax and Trade" bill will raise energy costs (gasoline, heating oil, electricity, etc.) on EVERYONE. The energy companies are not going to absorb these new "fees/taxes". They will pass them on...to EVERYONE.
Nationalized health care...Barry said during the campaign that McCain was bad because he was suggesting taxing the medical benefits that are paid for by employers, effectively taxing YOU, the employee, for the health insurance that your employer pays for you. Now guess what? The CBO (Congressional Budget Office) has come out with a study stating the new government run health care system will cost 1.3 trillion (yes, that is a lot of zeroes) dollars and the Obama administration has no idea how to pay for it. So, now Barry is agreeing with McCain and taxing health benefits is back on the table. Gee, that won't hurt the middle class either.
Wake up people...sooner or later all this crap is going to hit you right where it hurts the most, your wallet. So yes, write your reps and senators as much as possible. Get pissed and tell them we're not going to take it anymore or come next election, they are out of a job.
