I would like some input on wiring my new car (still looking, more than likely it will be a 00-04 civic), but the car really shouldnt matter too much besides alt and bats, heres what ill be installing

1. PPI Art Series a404, or eclipse 32440

2. old school Lightning audio s1.1000d (will be upgrading to something that does 1500 rms @ 2ohms soon)

3. 2 Dayton Ho's

4. More than likely 6 1/2 comps in front and rear if all goes as planned (still deciding)

5. I want room to grow and go active, so i want to get either another 4 channel or a 5channel amp

6. Will more than likely want to add an 8 in woofer to the rear deck to get some more midbass

7. HU: Alpine cda 9887 or if i get the $$ pioneer 80prs

Right now i have the following wire

1. Knu KCA 0g power wire

2. Knu KCA 4g and 8ga strands

3. Knu KCA 0g to do the big three

4. Knu Distribution blocks and etc.

5. 8ga, 10ga, 12ga, 14ga, and tons of 16ga speaker wire (karma ss and stinger 16ga ofc)

So to the questions, so heres the thing, i want to upgrade in the future, but i dont want to have to run new power wires all the time, i dont mind rca's but i want to be done with power wire for life, haha

1. If i want room to grow should i run 2 strands of 0g wire to the trunk?

2. Should i look at getting an extra battery for the trunk (I will be upgrading the battery under the hood for sure).

3. I will most likely be getting a honda civic 2000-2004 (laugh if you want) so should i get a ho alternator?

4. Anything else i should consider so that i can do this right the first time and have all my power and speaker wiring done right for upgrades in the future.

drop the kca and get the kollossus wire

forget the 8 in the rear for midbass that will come from the components in the front

ditch the rear comps they are not needed unless u carry passengers all the time just keep stock there

a bigger battery up front will help alot but a bigger alt is best as for what size? the answer is the biggest you can afford plain and simple bigger is better. a secondary battery is great as well but i recommend an at home charger if you like to beat on you system continuously with no breaks to allow the alt to recharge the batts fully.

if you get an active deck you can hook up any amp and run active. the newest of these active decks is the deh-prs80 which is an awesome deck.

sealing and deadening your doors will prolly make the biggest difference in the sq in the car before subs at least. deadening the trunk lid is always a good idea followed by the floor and then under the headliner. i personally would deaden the trunk floor last since the many bend in the floor make it more rigid than other parts of the car.

you wont find a 5 channel that puts out 1500w for the sub biggest ive fount is the memphis big belle at 1100w at 1 ohm

the subs are great i would look into boston acoustic for amps as they are getting out of car audio and focusing more on home audio you can get then for great prices

the 2300 i believe is rated for 1400rms at 2ohm bridged and they make a 4 channel that would match appearance wise.

ssaudio.com/store has them for a decent price and they are a well know reputable dealer

any more questions please ask but try and use the search function first as many people as the same questions and we have likely already answered the question, nut feel free to pm me with questions and i will answer them to the best of my abilities or direct you to someone who can answer the question

i already have an active ready deck, cda 9887, i think i may switch to the pioneer though, cuz i loved my first pioneer hu, so im good there. should i just run midbass 6x9 or 6 1/2's in the rear, i dont even know why i asked that, because i like a little rear fill honestly, i know some people dont, but i do. I dont give a lick about appearance i just go for sq, no ones going to see my amps or box anyways, boston acoustics always scare me, i feel like they arent good quality, i love my old school rally series 5 1/4 comps though, but old school everything is better. the 5 channel would be for the 8 inch woofer, but i guess i dont need that, something i kinda just wanted to try later on for the heck of it.

i would maybe run rear fill with the mids only 6.5s are easier to come by.

boston amps are always good quality but like i said they are getting out of car audio and most of the new stuff is just warehouse bulk.

as far as the five channel idk what your budget is or how much room you want to give up for a single 8inch sub 5-600w should be plenty. and i personally am looking at an alpine pdx-v9 which is costly but audiosavings has them for around 460ish

ok i got my honda civic 2003 coupe today, group 51 battery, now i need to know what battery to get to replace the stock battery, ill be pushing about 1200-1500 rms at 2ohms on a mono amp and about 240 rms @ 4ohms. i was looking at an optimum yellow top to replace it, should i go with something a little more suited for car audio?
