All i can say is "why", I would go with a single 15" Fi btl, or you may even be able to get an 18" in that price range...would be so much bettah.

Don't do the alphasonics. Pick up some Tang Band 8s from Parts Express.

Old Assassin 8s. There were atleast 6 in the classifieds recently...I'm sure you could dig up a couple more. I had 4 ported and it was impressive. 8 would be insane.
