Final thoughts no the APSM-1500

"here is my final thoughts on this amp.

today i drove 30 minutes one way with the system full tilt playing songs with solid basslines. amp is wired to .5 ohm. simply put 20 minutes into the drive of solid full volume full tilt power out of the amp i finally was able to thermal it. the cool thing about the thermal protection circuit of this amp is that it actually just cuts the bass off. then about 10 sec later it comes back on. there must be a thermostat of some sort to let it know when to stop producing power.

from this i can conclude that if you run the amp at 1 ohm ALL day full tilt everyday that you shouldnt see any kind of thermal issues what so ever. mine was in the back of my wall where there is no air movement plus another 200.4 producing 2x the ammount of heat. so ambient temp was high especially when its over 60 outside right now. obviously the hotter it gets outside the hotter the amp will be but at 1 ohm ill just say you shouldnt see any issue.

now as far as being .5 ohm stable. with the amp i am running right now in the manner that i have been running it the last 2 days. *trying to blow it and thermal it* i would be safe to say with proper electrical that you could get away with running it at .5. do i recommend it? yes and no. the reason i am running it as .5 is to test the overall durability of the amp and see if its something i can use for what i wanna do in the future. yes it gets hot. yes its 125$ amplifier. honestly i have got my monies worth and then some out of it. im am by no means bias in this review im just going by what i am testing myself. Others might be ANTI audiopipe but that doesnt change my testing results at all. i feel comfortable running mine at .5 ohm now normal daily listening. i never drive around all day everyday full tilt.

but so everybody does know it does have a thermal protection circuit and it doesnt kick the amp into protect completely it just shuts it off from producing power then kicks it back on. kinda like telling you to turn it the **** down haha.

so conclusion. best amp ive ever used as far as price to performance goes. will i use them in my big build no. would i recommend people to use them yes. i am a sundown guy so i will be using sundown amplifiers because jacob treats me right. but if i didnt have a friend like jacob i would definetly run these amps.

expect 16 of these amps to be in my truck for slamology at .5 ohm each. just for the heads up "

wow great review!!!!
looks like they will sell like crazy prob audiopipe will run out lol...
Shiet for $125 they better.

I always knew about audiopipe but comon corey, doesn't the logo and name just look and feel kinda trashy?

But if they do rated, I'll put a paper bag over it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Meh.

The one thing about the review that should be addressed is the claim that they won't heat up. I'm not saying they will under normal operation, but that is dependent on the actual application. If wiring is an issue or voltage is an issue it is very possible for it to heat up.

Could you take the amp and place it in a car with limited upgraded electrical and do some tests? I would like to see those. Also, anyway to get a video of the scope on the amp while clamping it? Would be nice to see.
