hmm how much level 5s run? this is a daily setup they be fine on that power daily?
A DC Level 5 would cost you between $550 and $675 depending on where you buy it and whether you want custom dustcaps.

I don't know if I'd be comfortable giving it 4kw constantly, but that's just me. It's a beastly sub, so maybe it would be okay. You'll have to ask someone who runs them...

i run one lvl 5 15 and it takes 3k like nothing. i would be 100% sure it can handle 4k daily.

You dont run 4k to your sub, therefore you dont know how it would react. Nor do you know the listening habits of the OP, as that would affect speaker longevity. Be careful what you tell people you are "100% sure" will be okay.
I really dont know how it would react either. But your 3kw example doesn't prove anything about 4k. For all you know your sub would pop with 3200 watts, or if your listening habits were harder on the driver.

very incitful response... i run full tilt usually to and from work, so whatever i have will be getting a workout...

You also have to watch these guys because they will quote power figures simply based on the amplifier they run. Hooking a 10,000 watt amp to a speaker does not mean the speaker is, will, or has ever received 10,000 watts. But that usually doesn't stop the guy from coming to the boards and bragging he's running 10kw on his driver (for example).

We dont know listening habits. We dont know gain settings. We dont know volume knob settings. We dont know enclosure size/type/alignment. We dont know power supply abilities (charging system). All these things, and more, affect power availability and power handling. But most people like to simplify the situation down to bite-sized pieces, turning good intended advice into a recipe for failure for anyone taking their advice.

yeah and people like me that knows the basics but not the brand comparisons themselves end up listening and getting something messed up. : / but thats why im asking to start with to get several opinions before i start buying anything. i will be setting gains at about 3/4 volume with a 50 hz test tone.

Gains should never be set at an arbitrary point, like '3/4' or 1/2' way. Gain adjustments are based on input signal strength from your deck or processor. Once you get your system running, look at the gain setting turtorial on this forum.
