ok so im thinking of doing a wall. but, i NEED to use my rear view mirror. Ok so heres my idea:

box2.jpg

box1.jpg

the clear part is plexiglass so i can see through it to use my rear view mirror. the grey circles are 15inch subs.

red is car, blue is wood

few questions:

first, will this be louder than jsut a square box in the back?

also, since the interior isnt aa perfect square, how do you close it off? like the curves of panels and stuff

nah, id like to be able to just use the mirror (not to mention im 17, and my dad said i can not do a wall unless i can)

so its that or no wall.

but if i use the right plexiglass itll work wont it?

yes if you get thick enough plizi its fine. someone on SMD has a build going with a plxi window.

trace around the contours of your vehicle with cardboard and transfer that to some mdf, and make a buety panel that seales off the front of the vehicle

.

alright sweet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif where would the port go on a wall? just approx

link to that?

ok. then how about the second pic? the non blue parts arent a window, the box is just shaped like that. would the two sides being raised make a problem with the acoustics?

You are mainly doing this to get your dad to allow the build? The true functionality of it doesn't matter, as long as he thinks its ok................right? Keep the cu. ft. to around 12-14 and build it whichever way he will accept. Remember that you need to leave a place on the front of the wall for the port(assuming you are going ported), if not the SEs will only need 10-12cu.ft. sealed.

im going ported, and did some measurements, and i dont need a wall. so you think only 12-14 cu.ft. for 4 re se? i heard 16 becuase the specs are 4 cu ft a sub x 4. im new though to this whole thing.
