This is mainly due to the sensitivity of a lot of 4th and 6th orders and even 8th orders in relation to phase response.

A lot of people do not know the correlation between a good phase, good timing, and low impedance peaks lol. Once those are controlled, a design can sound in nearly all cases pretty darn good regardless of its exact purpose.
