Really? You think the Type R is comparable to the w7? Id probably run the type Rs sealed since I dont want to have a HUGE box in the back of my car...

i wouldnt do type r's sealed ported tuned low woul;d be good 4 wat u lookin for

Right Ive had em ported so I know what they can do, just dont want to lose that much space for them....

I don't tend to agree with this statement all that much.

I've ran Type R's, 13w7, and 13w6's.

Of all of them I enjoyed the 13w6's. They get loud and they sound amazing doing it. The single 13w7 though is going to pound your heart out w/ the proper encloser, just like your current type Rs probably do.

But I do agree with 80 inches on the w3v2. 2 10 or 12 of those would just pound. Those were some of the best subs they've produced still, in my mind.

I'd get w6v2's seal them in a appropriate box and call it a day. Plenty of room left and good sounds FTW. Shoulda got the Caprice wagon.... guilt trip.... guilt trip...

I would not agree with that one. My Q is louder than the Type-R and I w7 is louder than the Q

Well Im looking into it but I think one 13w7 would probably be loud enough in a decent ported box or 2 10W7s sealed, Ive never heard the W3 V2s are they really that good? They have em on ebay for $250 a pair but never heard em so I dont know how to judge them

Speaking from personal experience: I had two 12w3v2's (not the new v3's) on a JL 500/1. Ported enclosure in a '93 S-10 blazer. Hit 144 db at my first and only sound competition. Took 2nd place by only .3 of a db....to a vehicle with two 15's and a 900w amp. So yeah, they hit pretty freaking loud.

And I don't have to vouch for their SQ. Their JL's. But if I must, they did sound very smooth and clean.

Well here is where Im looking the price of ONE 13" is the same as 2 10" so Im wondering what is going to be louder on 1k watts? Im just looking for something that is as loud if not louder and sound better than the 2 Type R's

What size box were they in tho....

Given that they were made to work in rather small boxes, I had what I would deem a larger box than what they would need. It was a generic, Rhino lined ported box for 12's. I had two of them, one for each sub.

Don't know the inner or outer dimensions.

13w7 ALL the way... had 1 13w7, 2 12w7's 2 10w7's, 2 12w6v.2 (not all at the same time cotjones !! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif ) and to the poster that thinks type R's are loder than W7's.... not with music.. maybe a fart box 1 note wonder... but not on music.. you should kill yourself to raise the IQ of the nation!

Well I went to the JL dealer around here and the salesman/installer told me that there are pros and cons to both for my setup he said he'd recommend two 12w6s or two 13w6s He said that a single 13w7 would be very loud but the 2 w6s would sound better,take up a little less space,and be loud enough in an open cab...What do you guys say to that? I would assume that two 13w6s would be louder than one 13w7 but then again cost more...
