bust out a multimeter and test the impedance yourself, also like said above check your gains and freq tuning...
about your setup, if these are the same jl amps im thinking about, they put out the same power (500w*1)@1.5-4ohms so at 1 ohm it would be bad but a 4ohms it still wont change output power......That was what I was thinking Bonesninja. If they have everything wired in parallel it would be at 1 ohm, that amp is not supposed to be at 1 ohm. I tried my Brahma wired to 1 ohm to a 500/1 and it started to pop and sound horrible at high volumes, I took it out and rewired it to a 4 ohm load and all those sounds went away. T
