Volume of bracing

Use that formula , multiply in inches , then divide by 1728 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

edit : yeah what he said //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

IMO, they don't take up enough internal volume to cause an noticable audible difference that isn't positively countered by the bracing itself.

If you're like me and use scrap 2x6s for bracing it's a different story. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You should always try to calculate your bracing. If you ignore this, then why not also ignore the space the speaker takes up (prolly approx the same)? After you start ignoring enough things, audible problems will occur.

If you know enough to do the math calc for your box volume, its the same calcs to figure any bracing needed (what, like 6th grade geometry here guys //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif). There's no real good reason to ignore these calcs (or to recommend doing so) imo, unless its just too much work for ya. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Well OK, you got me there. I usually compensate for those in a very general way by making the box about 0.4-0.5 cubes larger than the planned net volume. I have never really calc'd the volume my bracing takes up..
