Hello,
I'm new here. So hi. I just have a stupid question I have been unable to find an answer for anywhere.
My buddy told me that if I have too little of alternator power that even if my voltage at the amp is reading good the amp could be seeing too little of power and could actually blow.
So for example I have a 370amp alt now, and unfortunately cannot fit a second one in at all. I also have a pretty beastly battery bank and when I run my sub my voltage doesn't drop below 13.8. That is a reading with an SMD volt meter right off the amp so it is accurate. However he states even though my vpltage is pretty high that it is still damaging my amp since it calls for more amperage than 370.
Is he correct? Or am I able to supplement it with my battery reserve?
Obviously more alt power is better but I am limited entirely unfortunately.
Thanks in Advance!!!
