voltage reading isn't turning off

I got a new fused distro block with voltmeter readout (made by raptor //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif). it had some weird grounding system where it is supposed to ground through one of the mounting screws, but my fuseholder is mounted to wood so there was no good voltage reading. I took a small piece of wire and attached that to the screw/nut underneath the distro block where the ground for the voltmeter is attached and ran that wire to my ground distro. Now I get a good, consistent voltage reading from the voltmeter, but when I turn the car off the voltmeter doesn't turn off. Other voltmeters I have (like on my battery terminal and fuseholder) turn off after 15 or 30 seconds, but when I went out an hour later to check the voltmeter on the distro, it was still reading. Will this be a problem or is the current for this voltmeter so small it won't effect anything? My plan is to use this as the daily-driving distro, but if its gonna cause me problems I don't wanna mess with it. I'm guessing it won't be a problem, but a double-check with you all can't hurt

i'd say it wont hurt anything. i'm sure others will agree

to check, see what the voltage reading is when you turn the car off, and then go back in like 2-3 hours to see if it's changed

Only thing it will hurt is people seeing it through the windows.. Unless its in the trunk, I have had one do this to me also

Use a relay and key it off of the remote wire for your amps. Use it to open / close the ground for the voltage display. That's what I did with my Knukonceptz distro block with the voltage display.

i still vote leave this one off...or how about a simple toggle switch?
