voltage question

I actually wouldn't have a clue. I've never owned a HU with that strong of a preout voltage. I know some amps are advertised to be able to accept up to an 8v or 10v or whatever high voltage RCA input signal but I've never owned any of those either.

I do know that the preout signal wouldn't be 8v constantly - only at a rather high volume setting. Whether or not your amp(s) could take that 8v signal periodically I wouldn't know either.

You'll be OK, that 8volt output will only occur when the HU is turned way up, if you limit your maximum volume you will in turn limit the maximum voltage output of the HU.

One thing to keep in mind is that having 8volts isn't necessarily better then having 2 volts. It just means a greater noise rejection ability, if you have no problems with noise to begin with the difference will be inaudible (providing that the amplifier is set to the proper corresponding sensitivity)

Any more input!?
