voltage question... is 13.7-13.9V normal for some cars?

my car goes from 13.6 to 14.2 most of the time but right when i start the car up it's 14.4 volts then drops when i put on lights etc.

It isn't going to make a difference anyway, why worry yourself about it? The amp plays and the battery charges. As long as those are taken care of you don't need to concern yourself with the exact voltage since you're not gaining anything by running a higher voltage in a daily driver.
