OP have your battery tested, my stock batt was half dead and whenver I played any music it would drop really bad. Turn off all bass boosts, clipping causes bad voltage drop. You shouldn't be dropping that low at all with an apsm. I'm running an AQ 2200 @ 1 ohm off a stock 90a alt and the lowest I will drop at idle is 12.0v from 13.8v

i can check. theres no way to put to alts in my car the alt faces forward not side to side and theres no space. h/o would be the only option but thats outta my price range. how do i have it tested? it rests at 12.6 hooked up without the car running and just hook the system up to the charger or take the battery out and charge it?

Go to a parts place like autozone and have them test it.

Go to a place like autozone or VIP, and have them bring out the handheld tester and just measure the battery while it's hooked up. Make sure the car has been turned off for a good 5-10 minutes before testing so the voltage has time to settle.

but batteries don't solve anything... they are just a bandaid. if my alt can't even keep this one charged how will it keep another done charged as well?

I thought the same thing, so I bought a bigger alt. Then my alt burned out. Im now back on the stock alt + a trunk battery.. works alot better.

If batteries are a band aid, why do all the people with big setups and even multiple 350A alternators have them as well?

They work in addition to the alt. If your alt can't charge the batteries then you're not doing any good.

im lucky that my stock alt can charge my batts. i rest at 13 car off. i never put them on a charger unless i see 12.5. but op its because audiopipe amps hog current like a fat kid at a buffet.

ill have my batt load tested. might change my ground to some 0/1 gauge instead of 4 awg. and prbly try the eld bypass. (catman i will need ur help on this)
