Well i'ev went to friends that are involved with car audio, my brother who's an electrician, my dad...my uncle...autozone...some people from here, audio shop...and still I haven't got a 100% assured answer so here it goes. My sound system goes in and out, likes like if i was to mute it and then it comes back. It happens alot when im at idle or driving slow, I charged the battery thinking that would fix it...and still im having the problem that sounds like voltage loss, but the voltage isnt fluxatiting i get a little over 14 volts. So what are my choices as far as what could be wrong. Autozone tested my battery and it tested out good, my dad tested it and it tested good too. The guy at autozone said that my system is taking out more then what my alternator can charge the battery...I dont know its a 200 amp alt from excessive. Im running a small 300 watts system for christ sakes, lord I dont even wanna think about all the problem im going to have with my system in the future...looking to put in subs... Heres the choices....

1. Bad battery

2. Bad Alt.(200 amp excessive amperage)

3. Bad Ground(left the stock ground, didnt change it out when I did the big 3)

4. Bad Head Unit

5. Faulty Wiring

6. Other

7. My ears are f'ed up, nothings wrong

First things first, finish the big 3.

Could be a damaged amp. If the potentiometer for your amp's gain has become loose or damaged, it will do exactly what you're describing. Before you go taking your amp apart, try a different one. If it is the amp, you have an electrician for a brother, have him solder the pot back down or replace it.
