Try to keep any racial slurs to yourself and for once lets keep it civil.

The topic of today is one about crime-ridden neighborhoods and opinion that it is a racial problem.

Lets take the town i live in for example....the south-east side is notorious for the crime that goes there. Drug sales are rampant, murders occur often, police raids galore, houses are run-down, many are vacant, vandalism is CRAZY, gang signs everywhere. The racial demographic is insanely lopsided with the majority being black, minority poor white and even smaller minority being hispanics. The city councilmen who represent those 2 wards say the crime is not a racial problem but more of an economic problem that us rich white folk could solve if we offered them more jobs and some sort of assistance.

I say it is a racial problem. I think too many young african american men are tempted by the quick and seemingly endless cash that drugs readily offer. With that cash comes the perceived notion of power when viewed by males less fortunate. All too often, they are quick to pick up a gun to settle simple beefs when a simple fist fight like back in the day would solve the issue. Just drive through the hood and see how many of these run down dumps have Cadillacs sitting on 20+'' rims. I'd rather drive a bucket and feed my kids than ride on dubs trying to look good.

Tell me how i can help your community clean itself up, when you refuse to clean it up yourself. No community can be changed from the outside, it must start with its own residents. This means you must start with the problems....drug dealers and drug users, thieves, and vandals. Clean up your **** yards, take a little pride in your home. Demand more police patrols, turn people in when you know they are the cancer of your society. If businesses are running illegal operations, keep calling the police. If the police are as racial biased as you claim they are, they will gladly come clean up all the black offenders that are bringing your area down

by the way, there are many responsible black parents who are moving out of that side of town so they can raise their kids in relative safety of the burbs. I commend them for recognizing the issue my comments are focused towards the blacks who thrive on the "thug" life mentality...not the average responsible african american

The blacks are a nuisance to society. Them and the drugs they bring with them.

They should be taught the responsibility that all whites are taught at a young age to get a job when they need money. It would also help if the good for nothin negro fathers would stick around and raise their childen. Teach them wrong from right. Smack the shit out of them when they do something wrong, just like the white fathers.

We could just let the white people teach us coloreds manners and respect again. Just like in the good ole days of Stonewall Jackson and the great Robert E. Lee.

The real answer to these problems is education. The more education you have the less you have these problems.

this is a good point....i saw some stats years ago on fatherless black homes and it was staggering back then. Not sure what it is now but i think its trending upwards. I totally agree that having a father in the home makes a huge difference.

the bad fact is that here in my town, low income familys don't pay a single dime to go to school...from pre-school all the way to 12th grade. And we have a very good public school system so i hate to hear that excuse from people around here.

Education is hard to instill on a society that does not value education though. Take Chicago for example. There is approximately $4,000 more dollars spent on each kid, whom are primarily black, in public schools versus those in Catholic schools, whom are primarily white. Yet the catholic schools continue to yield betters scores, graduation rates, and results.
