Voice Coil Problem

Pretty soon im going to be upgrading to 2 12" Memphis 07 PR's and an M class 500w amp so im not too concerned about this problem, however if theres a way to fix it, a buddy of mine who is building his first system might be interested in the subs.

Right now i have 2 Pyramid 12" Imperial Gold 1200w subs and at the time, when i bought them back in july, didnt know they were DVC, i just thought they had 2 terminals so you could access them to wire them easier. (i knew next to nothing back then about car audio) and now, about a week back, after running them on only one VC ever since july, one of the wires connecting the terminal and coil broke. so, i switched to the other terminals (this was before i realized that they were DVC).

So, the point of this thread is......

Is there any way to reconnect those wires, ive tried soldering them but that didnt work and im not quite sure why, they look almost like little metal ropes.

I was hoping to bridge them down to 1 ohm and run them like they should be untill my other subs and amp arrive but i cant unless i find a way to reconnect that wire.

Any input would be much appreciated.

Its hard to get tinsel leads to take solder sometimes, or if you get the resin core melted on it, it will make anchoring the solder even that much harder. You COULD take some thin wire 22-or higher gauge and brade your own little terminal lead wire to solder back on...ive done this before in desperate situations and it lasted the lifetime of the driver.

thnx, youv really been teh only helpful reply, i dont know, i think ill jsut go woofer-less untill i get my prs

You're saying you broke a tensil lead I think.. you should be able to solder it back in place. Although, I wouldnt even bother with repairing a pyle subwoofer.
they are pyramid's, dont mix them up. pyles are junk. pyramids are the shit.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif
