Mach5 vs. RL-i 10"

Unfortunally, my deal with the tc2+ fell through so I have to look for something else. I really want to go with the RL-i, but i've heard some good things about the mach5. Also, if you have any suggestions for 10"s (I plan on running 3 of them) please put them up. I have $350-$450 to plat with & 3.5cubes max to work with. Thx guys, Vic. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

Both are a great choice, but take a different approach. Talk to aneonrider on SSA, he has 3 MAW-10s. I like both subs, if money not a factor, the RL-is are sweet, along with higher power holding, but I have to test head to head to be sure.

I'm trying to keep/find a happy med. between SQ/SPL. I kinda have a $350-$450 limit (knowing if I go with RL-i's I have to save a bit more:D). Is there anything else that you would recomend with in that price range? aneonrider is running 3 mach5 10"s? Hmmmm.............I think i'll go talk to him. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

for the price go mach 5. just got mine in the box, 15", but not powered yet. i ran into a small problem with the install. the spare tire holing bolt in the car is up higher than the floor.(i like it tight, lol) so the box would not sit right and get damaged. never noticed, but it wore a small hole into the box i have in the car now, but never noticed it until i removed it. got to go and get my grinder out, and get the cutting wheel on to cut it down a bit. that is after diner though. i still want it to be in the car tonight, or at the worst tomorrow at work on my lunch.

All in all you could get louder, sound good, for less $$$ and less watts with mach 5

but its all about what you want. i'll have a good review on their sub tomorrow at the latest, so it will give you another view on how the sub really is, and not just from people that have seen the 12"challenge, and saw the graph.

I'm not compareing them in price, more so in SQL. I know the rl-i's have great SQ, but i've never heard a mach5.
from the 12's test it seemed that the mach5 was more of a 'get loud with little power' sub, and didn't sound that great.

if you want good sound on a budget go for the assassin.

if you have more money/power, then there should be many choices.

from what i have heard, they sound good.(mach 5), rl-i sound great. all from what i have heard. never heard either, except my mach 5 free air on my ht, which was quiet, but shock my walls on 50-75 rms.

Well I ran into some unforseen issues, so the rl-i's are out of the question. I just dont have the $$$ (550+ for 3) to get them. So now it's between the mach5's & these pioneers.

I will be pushing them with a PA3000D. I've heard a few good things about them. I currently have $375 to spend, and that'll be it for awhile.
