Viper or Memphis?

Hey guys,

I'm going to be running a single 15xxx ported along with a set of re comps and vifa midbasses. I'm wondering which set of amps I should go with. I'm looking at the new memphis 16-mc1500d and the 16-mc3004 or the viper 2500.1 and 500.4. I'm having a tough time deciding what to do. Get a XXX built with dual 4 ohm coils and run the memphis amps, Get the same dual 4 XXX and run 2500 watts to the XXX with the 500.4, or get a dual 2 ohm XXX with a viper 2500.1 at 4 ohms and save the extra power for another setup later on.

I will get more power from the viper, but I like the small design of the memphis and I hear the memphis amps have amazing sound quality. On the other hand, it would be nice to have 2500watts available. Is it even safe to run 2500 to a single 15 XXX?

I personally like the Viper 2500.1, and yes you can run 2500 watts to a 15 XXX, just be careful with the gains. The room to expand is also a big bonus, and if you run a more powerful amp, they should last longer because you dont have the crank the hell out of it in order to power the sub enough.

no u cant, the viper is stable at 2 ohms. go with the memphis amplifiers.

Oh s*** my bad...lol, good call. I forgot the viper was stable to only 2 ohms, I was thinking of the orion 2500D

he originally said in his first post he was gonna get a dual 4 ohm so he could run the viper to it. also consider a crossfire vr2000D. excellent amp. very efficient, makes rated power at 12.5 volts and does about 20% more at higher volts. very clean and powerfull amp.

I can also get an awesome deal on the directed amps. A 2400d and a 4500, or the memphis amps are my choice now. The vipers are now out of the picture. The orions are too much money for the slight difference between the viper and dei.
