viper 1200's strapped???

obviously. but with my coils i can either run them at 1 or 4 ohms. I was asking, if i wire my subs at 1 ohm with my box rise taking me to about 3 will the amps be ok???? Will the amps see a 1 ohm load or will they see the 3 ohm load due to imp rise? thanks

actually they are dual 4's ran parrellel to get 1 ohm. I know the specs say to strap them at 2 ohms but with impedence rise im above 2 ohms. Im not sure but i belive the amps will see the the 3 ohms instead of 1 ohm because of the box rise. Correct me if im wrong. Thanks

i don't think you gonna rise like that man--thats a 2 ohm difference. especially if your coils have a lower than 4 ohm impedence. for instance i have dvc 4 ohm subs and the coils are all actually 3.6 ohms. it doesn't sound like you have an ideal matchup with your subs/amps.

I imagine amp manufacturers took Imp rise into consideration when rating thier amps, I would stick with what is recommended unless you want to chance frying a good bit of money.
