i got my new amp 2 days ago. i hooked it up right away and it sounds great.

currently i have 1 infinity perfect 10.1 in a small sealed box .60 ft3 to be exact. im about to order another 10.1 tomorrow. i built my first box yesterday btw

I set the gains by ear and it sounded good. then yesterday i got a dmm and put in a 45hz test tone and when i checked it with the dmm its putting out 56 volts.

the sub is rated at 350 rms. and the amps rated at 410 rms @ 4ohms

shouldnt my voltage be around 36v. thats what i got anyway.

it hasent distorted once since i installed it but i dont want it to blow a month down the road. also ive heard people on here say that you should never feed a perfect more that its rms power rating.

can someone tell me if 36 volts would be the number im looking for for 350rms at 4ohms

thanks in advance

well i thougt i had it set safely by ear cause the sub sounded great. but like i said it was reading 56 volts. thats got to be more that 350rms right.

can someone help me with the math please

The voltage should read 37.4 for 350 watts @ 4 ohms. I don't know about not pushing more than they are rated because my cousin had 450 wrms a piece to his 2 IKP 10s for more than a year until something went wrong with his amp

Remember just because it sounds good to the ear doesnt mean your not harming it. The kappas are known for very low distortion.

yea, my friend bought a 10L5, i let him use my viper since his brother bought it, i installed it for him and it worked good, i set the gain to what i thought was pretty low because it was a cheap blaupunkt cd player, so gains about halfway because i didnt have my dmm, so he calls me back a day or 2 after and said his sub quit working, i go over there and sure enough its blown, i check the volts from the viper and its putting out 60+volts, WOW, im pretty sure his cdplayer dosent have hi volt preouts so i checked his deck he has bass all the way up , loudness on, and xbass on, i got him to turn it all down and he it was fine then, he went back to cc to get another sub and its working now

ok ive got it set right now. that amp pushes the hell outa that 10.

also i left the bass boost off. but i notice if i turned it up the volt meter was reading 60 when the bass boost was halfway up. 60 volts would be over 800 wats right? how can this amp do this at 4 ohms?? or was it just clipping the amp?
