Viper 1200.1 for Type R subs

COuld my Viper 1200.1 amp power 2 750rms 15' alpine Type R subs or would I be better at pushing 2 12' Type R subs rated at 500 rms. My amp does 1200 RMS x 1 @1ohm. I want decent spl and sq. Something better than my Punch P3.

lol. the subs are 750 watts rms. the viper will work well if the type r's are dual 4 ohm.

The Viper will be fine on those subs. Put them in a big ported box to increase efficiency, and they will shine.

Well if he is worried about giving them less than their RMS power, a ported enclosure will increase effienciency of the drivers, and bigger = more efficient... He never said he was driving a car. And big doesnt mean 10 cubes... So.. Go home?

I just had someone design me a new box, which shows I dont know "everything." I do know some properties for enclosures though, and one is that a ported enclosure increases driver efficiency, requiring less power to reach full excursion.

And you are yet to contribute to this thread at all.

a viper1200.1 will do those subs justice. Believe it or not, you dont have to feed 2000 watts to a 500 watt sub to run it at its potential. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

A couple people run 1200 watts to each Type R and everyone thinks thats what you gotta do to get it to move. To the people who say this, stfu. Its that simple.

I have 650 rms going to each of my R's and they move more than enough. I just dont see why anyone would want to run anymore than that, other than for SPL comps

Well I Want to put them in a sealed box. I kinda got tired of ported boxes they sound too boomy and I want some tight bass. HOw do the TYpe R 12' compare to spl with the Rockford fosgate P3 which are lso 500 rms?

Well I have my r's sealed and they sound very good. The bass is tight and accurate and the lows can get very low. I am sure you will be good on that viper.
