Video output on indash is fuzzy, Help!

my friend has a panasonic indash DVD and it work fine and everything but, when we try using the video out on the indash to an external monitor it gives out a fuzzy or static picture. I can makeout what the video is but it has a slight static to it which it doesnt make if i plug a different source to it beside the panasonic. Any idea what mite cause this?
