hmm... how do you get all of the power out of that 20.1 then?
i don't know if it is the vid, but i can hear what appears to be tinsel slap...Im sure I dont........At this point, I dont think the subs could take much more power.......Definitely not right.
I was thinking it was the box, but now Im not so sure if thats the problem.

Is it possible that the box COULD be the problem?Hmm , maybe the VC is detaching from the cone ? Hard to say without actually hearing it . The leads look ok .
Not possible for HC's to bottom out? Sounds like someone down there doesnt know what he/she is talking about... Any driver can bottom out, when pushed pasts is mechanical limits. With that being said, I think if it was in fact bottoming out, you would know it. It is a very prominant sound, you should be able to tell when a driver is bottoming out fairly easily.
However, it doesnt seem like the HC is doing this, so I am stumped... Without being there, and without a clear recording of the sound you are hearing, no one can help you via the internet on this one.
Edit- Did the noise stop when you took the sub out of the enclosure?
a sub bottoming out would be a popping type noise. and it sounds nasty when it happens. turn the volume up a lil on the head unit and listen next to the sub, then you can rule out bottoming out or not if the noise continues.
I dont think they can bottom out actually.
Due to design.
spider will rip bnefore the VC will bottom out. look at the top plate yo //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Anyways form the free air vid what it souinds liek to me is the plastic VC cover thing under the dustcap has come loose and is vibratting from air pressure.
I do not have apic right on hand but someone delt wiht this very recently and fixed it with goop. only bad thing is you have to tear off the dustcap to find out.
Then again a $10 dustcap is cehaper thena recone, and if it needs reconed then well... the dustcap being tore off woulndt matter.
Possibly look in form the pole vent, maybe use a long utensil of some sort to see if it is 100%attached 360 degrees around the cone. I would almost gurantee this is the problem.
Also think about it this way, exact same subs, exact same box, exact same power but one makes noise... i don't think it is bottoming out.
that would be it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
