amps sweating

Ok my buddy has ran into a problem.

Everytime he folds up his back seat and leaves it over night or all day when he opens his trunk there will be moisture all over his amps. Sort of like take a glass of water and put ice cubes in it. you get water drops all over the out side of the glass.

His trunk is sealed and we checked by taking all the carpet out of the trunk and I got in the trunk and let him spay everything with a hose.

No water came in at all. everything is dry.

If he leaves the seats down the amps will stay dry but as soon as he puts them up they will get the water drops all over them.

Anyone got any ideas?

water is getting in somehow to cause the condensation.

Maybe try on a nice day like today leaving the trunk/doors opena nd drying it out very well. There is however vents into the trunk so it cannot really be sealed off completely.

yes there is vents on eather side.

Everything in his trunk is dry. Maby I can try and take everything out of his trunk and spray it with some rocker guard or ashpalt sound deading.

Ya happens all the time like today. he left the seats down all night no problem.

Folded them up and went to the mall and what not and after about 3 hours he opened his trunk and the amps were damp.

then it is probably happening in the morning

the aluminum in the heatsink/steel covers maybe are holding the cool air and the temp inside the trunk is rising faster causing the condensation.

as for a fix for this I am not sure to be honest.

First thing in the morning the amps will be bone dry and will stay that way till he folds up his seats.

Then as soon as he folds them up the amps will get damp.

Ya i am stumped.

Been tring for about a week or so to get it to stop.

Well He just left to go get some of that spay on sound deadner from canadian tire.

We are going to do the whole trunk to make sure it is 100% sealed to make sure no moisture is getting in there. and let it dry over night and put everything back in again and see what happens.

Found the Focker.

If we spray the under side of his car in the wheel wells water comes in from around the trunk vents.

Goint to let it dry and blast alot of that ashfault sound deadner he just got and that should seal it up.

Done the whole trunk with that liquid ashphault under coating.

I was suprised at how well it sound deadens. Not bad for 6 bucks.

It has been raining all day and I went into his trunk with a flash light (everything was removed carpet ect..)

Not one drop of water in there.

So I am sure he is good to go.

Ok update.

I think you hit it right on the button there. first thing in the morning like you said it starts to warm up and the amp is very cold and as the temp rises it starts to build up condensation.

I am thinking it is cause the amp is wedged in between the back seats and the box and it doesnt have any room to breath sort of speak.

Now to find out the fix for this nonsence.

Though we fixed the problem cause there is not one drop of water getting in the trunk.

I told him just to remove the back seat lol cause it dont due it when you fold them down but he cant do that cause of his kids need to get in the back.
