I had a thread a few days back, I think something is wrong with one of my HC 12"s.

System specs:

Pair of HC 12"s, 3.6 cubes total, tuned to 39hz

IA 20.1, .5 ohm load

Pioneer 880prs

Gain is all the way down on the 20.1, no bass boost on either deck or amp, sub level is at -4, as I dont have a front stage in now. Song is "dope boy magic", #7 on the Young Joc cd.

This is my first video, so go easy on me. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gif

I believe something is wrong with one of the HC's, the one on the right. I focus on that one more during the video. Theres a segment of the video where its just black, thats when Im turning up the sub level to +6. Its around 1:09 of the video, I think.

Anyway, hopefully someone can tell me what the hell is wrong.....the HCs should have no problem with this amount of power.

Hows the 20.1 treating you? Glad you took it over the Orion?

Definitely.......

Best $500 I ever spent on audio. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif :up2somet:

Ever get yours taken care of?

To be on topic, got any suggestions after seeing that video?

Couldnt tell if anything was wrong with it from the vid. Any bottoming out didnt get caught too well with that cam. Does it sound like something is slapping on the back end of the cone?

What would bottoming out look like?

It does sort of sound like something slapping the back of the cone.......

Im hoping its just tinsel slap, but it would be some LOUD tinsel slap.

Im definitely going to check for slap tomorrow, these subs have had new tinsels soldered on them, maybe its too long on the one sub.

If I have to put felt on there, what kind of glue do I use?

Take them out and see if the noise is still there. Just be careful with your volume //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I thought one of my subs was bottoming out or had tinsel lead slap....it was actually just something vibrating in my trunk lmao...

It only does it at high volumes........with them being out of the box, will it show the same signs at a lower volume?

some CA glue or maybe some goop would work.
just remebr to place the felts 180 degrees apart on the cone almost exact as you can so it doesnt throw the cone 1 way.

Ive seen this CA glue mentioned, where can I get it?

Would I need to go to a hobby shop, or would Lowes/Homedepot have it?

Nice sig, BTW. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
