set your gain on your amp at 4v thats what i do......
set your gain at what ever your headunit or crossovers output voltage is at is at

or do it by ear because most amps have no voltage notches around the meter....u can do it just listen for the sound to change up..... if your Hu goes to 60vol set it at 30 or 35....nah better yet....do it the ghetto way like me..... bypass the subs and jack the vol up till you hear slight distortion on you highs and back off of the nob a it a bit

then bypass the highs amp and turn the subs up till you hear distortion on em and back off the gain till its clean sounding and bring to highs back up....its that simple and ive never cooked any subs......

(remember to try not to go above the max HU vol you setup at)

im a little confused. i dont crank my headunit. i only listen to it at like 23 at the highest because i have stock speakers and they start to distort after that. i dont have a highs amp. and how do i by pass the sub amp? take the rcas out?

On a ported box, it's a good idea to set the SSF at a frequency somewhere in the area of the tuning of the box. That way if you have a song with some stupid low frequency (didn't someone say there's an Enya song with a 15Hz tone?) your sub won't start flapping free-air.

maybe cause they don't like you music in the first place .or maybe cause the know your clipping the fuck out of your amp. and did you think if you stopped acting like prick and took so contrive criticism you might learn some thing . at this rate i see a ban hammer in you future

op, just set your subsonic somewhere around 32-35hz. That will safe you a pair of sub. Chop and screw also makes the bassline lower, which will kill your subs without the proper filter

Gain setting is VERY simple and one of the first things that should be learned in car audio...not to mention it keeps you from burning equipment, also a plus. You don't want to get flamed? Then don't put up "I'm not getting full power because gain is only at 3/4."
Also, the filter fucking owns you.

well im pretty sure the topic of this thread isnt, "how do i set the gain" now is it? i never asked about it. i just had some douche bag flaming me. all i was doing is putting a video up. i didnt know it would cause every flamer on the thread to flame the hell out me just because i put a video up.
