VIDEO 4 18's 50 cubic feet 20" diameter port 23Hz tune 14,000 RMS

what else you got? Id love to get my hands on some super beasts like DDZ/IA Warden/ LV5's (or whatever they are) and some SMDs... not my normal thing, the opposite, but it would be fun!

Do you have any photo or video logs?

with the completion and success of the curved sealed box for the mx21 give away... I am pouting, trying to figure out a way to modify my van and two towers to accomodate 21's. But the van is bullet proof. If a nuke went off in my van, if anything survived, it would be the wall. If only I could have gotten that price offering back in feb/march!

Any ideas? I don't think it's feasable. I know how I could have made 4 fit in the van from scratch, but I just cant see making them go now.

21" Maelstrom Curved Box Build - Page 17 - AVS Forum

my wall is 56" wide x 47" tall

I could have made 2"x6" framing and 2 walls, each housing two 21"MXs...rather a 10" wide by 47" tall slot port down the center of a 56"x47" wall

I got offered a KILLER price on 6 21" Maelstrom-X's that would make me scrap 6 RE Audio 06' XXX 18's instantly, if I were able to put them in my wall. Why couldnt I have gottwn that offer back before I started my build and I was negotiating???

cuz im not retarded, i used 110 cans of expanding foam, 5 sheets of 3/4" MDF for the shell, 5 layers for the wall backed by doubled up 2"x6" frame, rear frame 2"x6" as well, and yet shit still flexes mad... false MDF doors as well, yet they flex.

Id like to see you go the cheap rout with 4 infinite baffle subs rated for 550wrms, a 23Hz tuning, and beat it. ****, give you some BTLs and see if you can

I forgot, the cool kids these days want flex, want pressure loss and rattles.. what was I thinkin? and you havent looked through all my vids to see the rear doors getting shredded and the whole rear of the van flexing in and out until I put in the rear frame and rear wall? your attention span ends with only the links available to you and your self... ah ****, youre a waste of my time. get off my thread.

cuz ya, he was real funny...

anyway

ima stick with 18's, I started the rear wall where I originally inteded to do it. I'll cut between the 2"x6"s on the temp-rear wall and turn that into bracing when this is done, so now I'll be around 80-90cubic feet, 15-18Hz tuning when I'm done

i really dont get this......... well u dont have a job and u still are building... our hard earned tax dollars going to work for ur unemployement to build this POS

The back doors dont flex either. It really looks like shit all around. Doesnt flex, doesnt get loud, and doesnt really move any air that I can see.

A friend and myself were looking at this about 2 weeks back. We had a good laugh at your expense. When I saw that you have your amps, wiring, and batteries mounted INSIDE your box I almost peed my pants like a giggly school girl.

ok... just because the sides don't flex doesn't mean anything dude.. the box goes by them... and gala monkey knows his way around some btls sweetie so I wouldn't challenge him on those.. with that low of tuning and power your doors should be rippling windshield blowing out of the seals seats shaking.. you barely have any thing going on.. of course if you put something in the port it will blow around.. I can do that with a 200 watt sub in a ported box.. with that power you could have a tiny box in the back with two 10s doing more.. I get you want to tune super low.. cool.. but its worthless in a car application.. mid 20's and and up is usable.. lower than that.. not worth it..

So to cap it.. I don't get what you are trying to do?

1. Be loud??? if so it looks like you missed badly.. I would say maybe 50's in there..

2. Sound good??? for 1/100th the money spent you could have and it could still look good in there..

3. Be unique? well good job you did it.. Prince was unique too so its not saying much...

thats not that bad.. if it was just batteries it would be perfectly fine.. besides being mounted on the walls I can't see any harm out of it for the amps.. If he built a rack in the back independent inside the box it would be fine you obviously have to deduct it from space to get tuning proper

50s? In his dreams. If that setup broke a 150 legal on the dash, Id be surprised.

But how is he supposed to tune the amps inside the box? What about the pressure inside the box messing with the amps?

Whole system is a fial.
