your deck might be skipping due to current draw or voltage drop. Mine did that when it dropped to 11.3 and my shit isnt that loud.

How does the HU mount? Any pics? I'd look into adding some metal bracing to hold it down more secure as most HU's have multiple mounting holes.

you may be onto something, i have noticed it doesnt skip as badly when i'm driving.
