yesterday i deadened the shit out of my hatch, used about 20 sq ft of raammat. also put some bolts in the bottom of my license plate so its not bouncing all off the hatch anymore.

i tried to get some footage of the air movement but my cd player kept skipping.



im getting voltage drops to 11.3-4 at the very lowest, usually it's around 11.6-7 when its wanging. whats the first step to getting that back up there, better batteries, more 1/0 runs under the hood? is 11.3 low enough to kill my amp? it doesnt seem to be heating up anymore than it did at 2 ohms, and it hasnt gone into protect yet.

that clarion HU was 700 dollars when it was new... i think i just need to get it secured in the console a little better, still trying to figure something out without wrapping it up and not letting it breath, it gets warm as is.

my explorer does the same thing, im still trying to figure out an idea to get it to not skip rather then but a unit and use ipod all the time

i love em. sound good enough for everyday listening, i keep the subwoofer out on my deck at -5 (-5 to +5 is the range) and keep the volume at about 17/35, listen to stuff like alice in chains, tool, metallica, sound quality is fine IMO and they have all the daily power handling options thats supposed to lower SQ. when i'm bumping something the subwoofer out is at zero, volume at 26/35.

loudness i dont think i even need to comment on... if i had to take a guess i'd say i'm easily breaking 150's with a daily 32 hz box.

the exile should give them a good deal of power at 1 ohm but they'll take more. i think they'll take more than what i'm giving them now, but i dont want to push my luck having just wired it to .5, gonna give it a while, see if its going into protect and what not.

the good thing about this deck is it has a built in hard drive so i can store songs that hit the frequencies that will skip it on there.

the hard drive fixes the problem, but it's about the quality of a 196k mp3. i dont like listening to that shit at 100 db let alone 150+...
