Well... as you guys know I spent an arm and a leg to get my system up and running. I've had many stupid issues come up over the last 2 weeks since I actually had it installed. First, the installation place scratched both my front windows, then pieces start falling off my ceiling, and now I am having a really retarded issue with my amps.

Every so often and completely random, one of my two amps will decide to just cut off from playing until I reset my headunit. The amp on my sub was the first to do it, but now my speaker's amp is causing me problems as well... a lot more frequently than my sub amp. Both amps have more than enough power to go to my system and I don't think it is overheating since it happens even when blasting A/C for 20 minutes.

I called Team Nutz and they said it is probably losing power which means I'd need a battery for the back. I have a Dodge Neon and for the past 2 weeks I haven't had this kind of trouble until just the past few days. I am very upset cause I'm sick of spending money. I spent 3 grand for the entire system, matting, and installation. I was hoping this would be plenty but I guess I was wrong.

They are trying to sell me a yellow top, a few fuses, and install for about 280 bucks. Can I get a better deal elsewhere? Is the battery really the thing I need?

Please help! I'm regretting going into this hobby and have nowhere to turn right now.

That actually isnt that bad considering that yellow tops start at 200 dollars with a trade in of your old battery. Look around on here and try to find a good used one. What amp are you using and what size is your alternator? (Also check your fuses and grounds!)

don't buy anything ELSE w/o them troubleshooting their install first. You just might not be getting enough voltage through the REM wire. Have them put a DMM and test voltage before you purchase anything.

Nobody said it was going to be easy.

What do you have running in case I missed something. What size wire fuses etc? There are a few here that have done neon builds. They can help you out.

Edit: I see your stuff now.

That is what I'm saying. I'm not a power user so I have lower powered subs for sound quality. I have no idea why it would be killing my battery.

My lights never dim even when blasting my music and having the AC on full blast with my headlights at night. This is crazy because I have no idea about what I'm doing and would probably jack something up. I don't even know what grounding means or how to check any of that crap. lol

Good lord. How big is your new butthole? They sure ripped you a new one if they sold you that equipment for $3,000.

As far as your issues: they did the work, if there is a problem with it, they should find the definite issue and fix it appropriately. None of this probably it is this, now buy all this stuff crap.

I also bought a custom box from them that was made from my trunk, and they used 2 full rolls of RAAMMAT to triple my entire car, including the ceiling.

I believe he was suggesting taking it to the shop and having them troubleshoot. It just might be the battery up front. Or it could be that weak alt too. Thing is alternators die with everything running stock. You just added more to it.

How much is a new alternator?

If it is over 200 bucks I may as well forget it and sell this system. I'm not putting anymore real money into this. I'm just a college student for god sakes.

Exactly. If you payed that type of money the shop should take it upon themselves to correct the issue. If there was even a possibility that you might have needed a bigger battery they should have at the very least warned you before anything was installed. None of it should be guesswork.
