very high powered 2ch. amp?

again... i can build hifi towers. design passive crossovers and actually build a speaker. here's the deal... i came here asking for info on a high powered 2ch or 1ch monoblock full range amp. i didnt need your opinion(s) concerning the thought process of my design. go that? it was very simple. this guy right here, the "OP", the "THREAD STARTER"... asked a very simple recommendation. nothing else, nothing more. if you cant actually contribute to this thread with useful information.... then gtfo.

Calling people ignorant is not the way to get help. Again don't give a **** what you can build as you can't build door panels, so it's a moot point. Perhaps your buddy jeff smith can help you...

I have an old school 2 ch. Coustic 510 Design Reference with balanced inputs. It's a SQ amp. Hopefully you know something about classic Coustic products. It might not put out a ton of power but it's very efficient and some of the best SQ I've heard.

ive owned dls amps... their best sq amps i've ever had. i was just looking for a little more power. i know with jeff's cars back in the day when he competed with the mb quarts qsd216's... he powered each driver with xtant monoblocks. his whole truck was slammed with amps lol. he had power on tap for days. i guess i need to do a little more research and find the right amps. seems everybody is stuck on 5 and 6 channel amps these days. the leviathan lll looks promising

I use 2 or monoblock full range amps for my mids and highs. I know you can find a lot of high power class d with full range but the SQ isn't going to be there. I'd look into something Zeff, Kinergentice, rich coe, or zed. You'll be paying a ton though.

nah... DD is 100% spl. im sure they built these amps for one sole purpose. i just cant see them making anything sq.
And you would be wrong with this statement, there was a guy using 2 S2B's and 1 DD 4 channel for IASCA SQ who was on Team Hybrids and he was taking first and second in his class (Pro Am). Trust me DD amplifiers are NOT all about SPL on their full range 2 and 4 channel amplifiers.

You'll have a much easier time if you at least cut the power requirement down to 500W per mid. You're only down 3 dB in theory by halving the power, which you should know as an experienced speaker cabinet builder. Get a 4-channel amp, bridge one per side, you're done. My suggestion is probably going to be shot down since it's a full range class D amplifier, but the Precision Power P900.4 I sell will do 450W x 2 at 4 Ohms bridged. This is more than enough to "wake up" 8" PA mids.

Running 1000 or even 500watts of power to a free air/IB driver is a colossal waste of power and money. You can easily verify what I mean. Get the driver's T/S parameter, put together a WinISD model (use sealed box with the volume you intend to use if you intend to use box, or say 2cu ft to simulate a sealed door). Almost certainly you will see the driver running out of excursion with 150-200watts of power per side at low frequencies. This is why there aren't many high power full range 2-channel amplifier. If you want something cheap, PPI P600.2 is probably the best in its price range. Boston Acoustics gives 2x300watt channels at 4ohm, if you can still find them.
