Very basic question.

Hi. I have a Toyota Yaris 2002 model with a faulty CD player and no AUX connection. This being the first car I've ever owned/messed about with, I am a complete noob to all this, please use small words and spell out abbreviations. I do not know what an "ISO" is.

I've been trawling the internet for about 3 days now trying to find the answer to what I thought would be a simple question. HOW DO I INSTALL AN AUX PORT. I just want to rig an mp3 player to the car. I thought; "Hey, know what would be a simple and quick project to get music into the car? why just rigging up an 3.5mm jack somewhere and I guess just connecting the wires to some other wires somewhere around about where the radio is". No. Nothing could be further from the truth. I'm getting about 456727 different ways to do this to any other car but this one, for reasons not adequately explained anywhere.

So, in brief:

All I want left in the car is a single 3.5mm jack and speakers, on wheels. I don't listen to the radio, or own CDs. How?

Thanks in advance.

buy a new head unit, you get aux, bluetooth, and usb with almost any cheap head unit nowadays bro. There's wiring harness that just plugs straight into the factory wire. Not that hard.

Your other aux ghetto rigged solutions just result in sh*t poor sound quality and overall headaches.

Cheers guy, alternative sources seem to suggest the same. Going to try to pick up something cheap on ebay. What compatibility issues are likely? Ie, will ANY radio fit ANY car or are there different sizes?

should be single din vs double din, maybe a 1.5 din in there somewhere. beyond that generally any headunit in your din category will fit but you will need an aftermarket in dash kit that will actually hold the headunit and come with the wiring harness plug.

honestly, since you're in europe there may be minor differences depending on your vehicle you need to look out for
