Verizon Copyright Infringement

i dont know if this matters but were all graduating so our fios account is being closed in one week
I quit going to college years ago but for some reason i can still log into my email from there and everything... dunno why. Can access my webspace and everything... maybe they forgot me?

because you shared while/after it was finished downloading, and one of their bots picked up on it.
odd..i almost positive i didnt with this file, because we went to watch it directly when it finished, whereas there is a "possibility" other such files have finished while im in class or away for the weekend and uploaded for hours with no problem...hmm

DO NOT reply to it no matter what you do. That letter is mostly for scares. Just limit what you download. DO NOT download any of the latest movies, videos, software, etc. Go for the older stuff. They will be watching your account for 1-3 months so if at all possible dont download anything illegal in that time frame. Ive had about 6 of them all from different ISPs and Ive never been in trouble.

yeah i mean like i said were moving out and this fios account is being terminated in the next week.
They can and will track you down if they want to, Just because you are leaving school doesnt mean you are going to become invisible to them.

If I was you I would just quit now while you are ahead. And just use the internet for email browing **** and ca.com!

Oh and uninstall all that Bit Torrent crap too. just to be on the safe side.

i've recieved two emails like that from cox communications on two separate occasions. they suspended my internet until i deleted the offending file. it was not because of sharing, i believe theres some kind of hidden file (like you said) thats sent out upon playback.

anywho, i wouldn't worry about it.

just tell them

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!

Yeah I am with you on this!

Downloading stuff off Bittorret has gone downhill and has been for awhile.

I'll tell you this.... Nothing beats the security of getting stuff of newsgroups if you know what you are doing.

They send these as a warning to scare the household into no longer downloading pirated materials. Will anything come of this? More than likely no. Will anything come of this if you continue and they catch you again? Yep.

yes its legit, yes they can pursue it and f you over, id change ISP's because alot of them refuse to keep records for there own information.

Its too much of a hassel to deal with for them so they just say we have no information to turn it over

they wont do anything but to scare you. The cost of taking you to court for years todo a trial would be very costly to them. I could understand if you were making tens of thousands off of that download.
