I'm moving across the states.. .(from Indiana to California) I'm already in Cali but want my car here b/c rentals are only fun for so long (you look like a fool in a lil 4 banger compact.. ) Also I've been raggin this rental out for a couple weeks now.. pedal all the way down everytime.. even to get to 30mph

Well anyways I'm looking to have my pimp ride sent to me, but I don't know what company to trust, and a good price. I have heard that they can easily damage your vehicle during shipment. So far I've gotten three quotes.. $790, $1350, $830

Anyone got any advice or experience in this? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Those are fair prices. I'm in the repo/towing/transport business, and we charge $125 just to go to auction, that's 50 miles away. With fuel being almost $5 a gallon, and those semi's only getting about 5-8 MPG, they are not making much, but they will haul as many cars as possible.

So, that $830 quote you got, that's the best you will find, take it.

In that area, no. I have an uncle in Jersey, but he's been running back and forth for an Auction company for the past couple weeks to Florida.

Transporters have good insurance, and they have to follow state regulations, so you will be fine. Their insurance is about $20,000 a year, and sometimes more depending on how big their trucks are.

my car was shipped once. everything in it that wasnt bolted down dissappeared. that was a private broker that set it up. the car actually ended up arriving to its destination weeks later. sat in LA for three weeks after it left. from CA to FL.

my dad shipped his last porsche with DAS (discount auto shippers). great service. on time. we picked the car up at their hub in hayward. we called ahead, the car was clean and sitting out for us.

What do you mean evrything that wasn't bolted down was gone? Like I have nice rims and wayyyyyy too much stuff inside to loose.. now I'm all freaked out.

this was back in the day, but my PS2 and games that were all behind the box inside of a sealed box. in this car, you couldnt get to behind the box from the trunk, you had to fold down the rear seats. all the little stuff in the console and glovebox was gone. go with a big name company who has a track record with their drivers like DAS.
