Vehicle buying advice

So I'm buying a ford edge. Love those crossovers. I'm choosing between two. Both at around 15000. One has 58000 mile, is 08, AWD and looks new. Read the carfax and it said it was in an accident where it hit a curb and tree, but there was no structural damage. Only bumper and surrounding stuff. Also is about 2 hours from me. The second is a 07. 84000 miles, AWD, looks new. Clean carfax and in town. Both look good at the same price. One has a lot less miles, but hard to get to. The vehicle I'm driving now is having problems and the money to get the one 2 hours away is being used to fix it. Should I buy in town or resave for the trip?

Take the trip if it was me, take a very long look at any vehicle that has been in an accident and when i buy a used car always take it to a reputable mechanic and have them look everything over. It is a ford though...so there lies the problem

20k miles on a modern car really isn't that much. With regular maintenance and not being driven like a 16 y/o male got his hands on it as a first car it should be fine. How do they both check out feature-wise? Definitely take it to a mechanic and have them inspect it before purchasing either vehicle.

You bring up a valid point. I read they get it wrong a lot. I may still go for it. I need to find a repair shop to check it out in that city.

Alright. So I checked out the one in town and it looks minty. I'm getting that one. It has 20000 miles more, but the maintenance is well documented. And there is room for a couple of 15's back there. I still feel like 12s or the 13.5s would be making the most of it. And the floor lifts up where the spare is and theres a ton of room for batteries and wires. The surround piece around the tire comes out.

It's around a year's worth of driving anyway for most folks. That's worth something.
