Van box decisions

I'm in the process of building a groundpounding van. I have a 97 safari van I want to wall out. I have 4 18 fi bls right now and thinking about regular wall behind seats with port to drivers side.

The dilima is would 8 or 12 medium grade 12s with good power in a 4th order be more efficient. This is my first van and just want to know what would be worth it. I don't want to put money into the 18s and it not be worth it. Any suggestions would be nice. The 12s would be m3 Memphis also.
