using sub in the house

I have a logitech z5500 with a blown sub. I have a 15in re se laying around id like to use. If i built an enclosure for it, say ported to 32hz, and used the z5500 amp to power it any problems?

the amp is: Sub-woofer: 188 watts RMS (into 8 ohms, @ 100Hz, @ 10% THD)

100hz and 10% THD meh...that RE will probably only see like 100w.

well will it mess anything up? it wont cost me anything so some is better than none

it won't mess anything up. although you should use WinISD to check on the fr of the box. you normally need to make a bigger box tuned low for home use.

Ive used a ten for home use, and it was at 4ohms, with the surround sound unit i was using.I kept it sealed, and did just fine

I've had an re8 on a cheapy wm surround sound for years, it isnt AMAZING by no means but its definitely better than the 3" 'sub' that was in there. Workin on 2 sa15's for the substage....

Build a t-line for that and you'll be amazed at what it'd do at 100watts.

I had two CVR 15s in my home towers and it was pretty good. The towers were tuned too high though, each one is a little over 8ft³. Since they got stolen I'm gonna put in some SSA Dcons instead.
