Using HDD on Xbox360

If you want the 360 to see files over 4gb you need to use HFS+ or as I do stream to it using Windows Media Player 11 (god dang I love hd streams, wmv-hd ftw)

Also you cant really use your computer when streaming or the video/stream will jump (I cant and I have a 2.0ghz dual core w/ 2gb ram)

You stream 1080p movies and browse on your comp?

I forget if the movie was on my SATA or IDE hdd that may have been the problem (IDE)

I just set up Windows Media Center, works fine until I chose a video to watch, then the Windows Media Center on the 360 freezes.
Ugh.
Just let it recognize your 360 and then go to the Media Tab on the 360, then Videos, then Select your computer and if you set up WMP 11 on your computer correctly it should let you browse all your folders.

It lets me browse the folders fine, but when I go to play a video, the 360 does nothing, just freezes.

To set up Windows Media Player 11 on a PC running Windows XP

1. Connect your console to your PC as described above or using one of the connection types described in Connect to Xbox LIVE.

2. Go to the Windows Media Player 11 download page at http://www.microsoft.com to download the software.

Depending on your region, Windows Media Player 11 may also be available at http://www.xbox.com/pcsetup.

3. Click Windows Media Player Software (or, if you followed the link for a manual download, choose your operating system and follow the instructions).

4. Run the software setup on your PC and follow the prompts.

5. When setup is complete, Windows Media Player should automatically start. If not, open it.

6. In Windows Media Player, click Library, Media Sharing.

7. Select Share my media, OK. Windows Media Player will search for devices on your network.

8. Click your console, then click Allow. If you want to apply more options, click Settings. When done, click OK.

9. On your Xbox 360 console, in the Media area of the Xbox Dashboard, select Music, Pictures, or Video.

10. If your PC's content is not displayed, press X and select your PC.

To Setup WMP 11 open it then click the drop down on Library then Media Sharing, it will probably see your 360 if its on and plugged in via Ethernet cable and click the 360 then click Allow

Then Click Settings and Check box whatever you want to share

-and-

Close out/Apply settings then click the Library Drop Down and Click "Add to Library" and add whatever folders you need to add.

You should be good with the above

lilmanic thats cheating I hand Typed mine lol
