using a maxxlink ... wtf?

It says that using the maxxsonics Maxx-link mlx-100 that you can link up to 5 amps max.... So say for instance I got 3 cheap amps that state that they are 4000 watt amps.... and linked 3 of these amps together (say realistically they only get at best about 1000 rms for each) how would I wire 3 of these amps to 1 sub? its basically a module that allows you to strap up to 5 amps together right? or would I be strapping 2 amps together for one coil and then using another say 2 amps for a total of 4 amps to the neg? I'm just really confused as to how you would wire more than 2 amps to a single sub. The sub i have is a D2 sub setup as well. any and all help is very much welcomed!

there are several different reasons to use maxx-links, but you cant put three mono block amps to one sub(it is possible if they are 2 channel amps). If you look at most cars that use them you will see that they do it so they can strap 1 amp to an odd number of voice coils(take a look at the build for the sound check van).

got it. Just couldn't figure out how you would strap an odd number of amps to a single sub. I guess the most I could do to my dvc sub is 4 amps.
You cant. It even says PAIRS. Set of two amps. Not two amps and one amp. Its up to 5 sets of pairs. Like in your other thread. I put the info of the maxxlink in that thread. I dont get were did you see that it says 5 amps.
