Using a loc

As long as you splice in and don't cut the wires, then yes the front speakers will still work. As for splicing into the sub wires you could do that, it'll just take the high level down to a low level signal.

are you looking to use the loc so you can install an aftermarket amp for sub duty or for fullrange duty?

if for bass. i say splice into the factory sub. that way you aint got to worry about filtering mids and highs. and you may even have sub woofer volume controls and crossover points from the stock hu.

if youre looking for adding an amp for fullrange use then use the front or rear speakers.

now ither way dont cut trugh the wire just cut about 1/2" of insulation leaving the wire bare. then separate the stock speaker wires and run the loc wire trugh it and twist it around real nice and tight then solder and use electrical tape.

or just buy one of those t wire conectors for the gauge wire youre using then you just crimp your wire to it.

laters

then you should be ok using the loc on the stock sub out of the radio.

if he later desides he wants a diffrent set up. then tap into the front or rear speakers. and you can have it all from there.
